Sunshine and strawberries

After 8 days of temperatures between 30C & 35C, today was actually quite cold! We only reached 23.5C!

.

But of course good weather means outdoor time, so last Saturday was spent riding my bike and geocaching. In the afternoon, I spent time outdoors with the kids in the garden before firing up the BBQ for some steaks and snags. Deb had to work, so I thought I’d watch a replay of the rugby with the kids but the sunshine and outdoor activity made them crash out by 7.30pm and I had the evening to myself. (And I decided not to watch the rugby after all and watched some mountain biking on Fuel TV instead!)

.

Sunday morning was an early start (has been since the summer time change and the kids waking at 6.30am!) and we headed to the Strawberry Festival. Bought strawberries, watched some performers on stage, kids jumped on the bouncy castle and I took some photos (see left hand column near the bottom). The rest of the day was spent in the pool, sipping on cold ones!

Tomorrow the temperature is meant to jump back above 30C again.

Great shot… and fyi we’re still over the 30C up here. I think my brain is melting. And no, I’m still not pining for the green cold wet fields of Ireland.
