It’s that time of the year again when Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove shut down and everybody parties – including me!
Don’t get me wrong, I will be working during the Carnival period, but I will still be enjoying the occasional beer and the fab atmosphere that goes with it. If you have never been, DO IT! It’s the second biggest carnival in the world (after Rio) with around 1.5 million visitors!
If you can’t make it – shame. Oh well, you can watch it on my webcam on Sunday and Monday if you like! http://delboy007.ww.com
I’ll put some photos on my blog after the event. Actually, it will only be after about a week or so ‘cos I’m away on holiday until next Saturday.
Chat soon,
Del
PS: Go Bokke, Go! Kick some Kiwi arse!!

(29 August 2005 - 15:21)Hey there Del
Hope you had a great time at the Carnival. I also hope you suffered from the same lurgie that got me after our inpromptu lockin at the pub the other night. Thanx for a wonderful evening. Good old SA hospitality – you just cant beat it. The return leg of the party is awaiting you in Ireland…
Good showing from the Boks , could have gone either way…. Brilliant game all round !

(30 August 2005 - 13:09)A late comment from me… been away for a while.
I had the honour of watching the game in a pub in the Southern Drakensberg – 3001m above sea level. The owners claim it is the “highest” pub the South Africa.
I dunno whether I was dizzy from being up there, the alcohol I consumed or the disappointment.
Brilliant game – but alas, it was not to be.
Hope you enjoyed the Carnival!!
I deleted the previous comment… too many typos)

(30 August 2005 - 17:03)Ja, bummer ’bout the Bokke, but it was a great game. I especially liked their extra-special Haka – I guess they tried throwing everything they had at us, and then some.
Pity we missed the actual carnival – maybe next year…?
