Today I drove my first Hybrid car – a Toyota Prius. It was a little weird at first, but now I want one! When you start the car, you hear nothing – it is completely electric. If you drive slowly, you hear nothing and feel no vibration except the road. Put your foot down or take off on a hill and you feel the petrol engine kick in immediately.
I drove between 2 campuses today, a total of 25 km, all urban. The fuel consumption: 3.1 l/100km! A bit better than my ‘truck’ at 17 l/100km!
