Tri-Nations @ The Walkie

Hi all,

I wasn’t going to write about South African rugby, but after beating the Aussies two weeks in a row, I couldn’t resist the urge to show off a little.

My (Australian) girlfriend and I went to the Walkabout, Shepherds Bush with a group of (South African) friends on Saturday to watch the Bok’s first Tri-Nations game of the season. It was always going to be a tough one as we are defending champions and we’d beaten the Wallabies the week before in the Mandela Cup game.

Needless to say, it was a tough game. Both teams played really hard and the match was closely contested but the best team triumphed (South Africa of course)

And yes, we all got slaughtered. Way too much ‘snakebite’ passed my lips…and down my T-shirt, jeans, hair, etc, etc but I still managed to stay upright and head for the local Belushi’s for cocktails and a celebratory burger!

Let’s hope we can do it all again next week against the Kiwis!

Chat soon,
Del
