Family Reunion

So last week Thursday I got to catch up with some family that I haven’t seen in 10 years! It was great! Although there was loads to catch up on, it was like nothing had changed! My cuz and her Mom, my aunt, haven’t aged one bit! And as for my ‘little’ cuz, A, I mistook him for his older brother. He quickly corrected me by reminding me that his brother has a whole lot less hair!

Anyway, lots of wine was consumed and lots of italian food was eaten. The laughter filled the restaurant (and scared the other customers away) as we reminisced our way through our childhood together.

We also heard stories about in-laws which scared me; running my bathwater will never be the same again… or butter on my toast!

By now, even our italian hosts were getting tired of our ‘euphoric’ Thursday night and started turning off lights around us!

As we headed off our separate ways, still laughing and joking, I wondered how long it would be before we saw each other again. My cuz has gone back to South Africa and my aunt heads home soon too… maybe it’s time for me to start thinking about heading home for a visit.

Chat soon,
Del

Del – 10 years is a long time.

Sounds like you had a great visit, though.

You guys had a great time. Rude of the Italians turn the lights off around you. One would think they more than any other ppl would understand family.
Come from a large family too. But in our case we seem to get along better, the further we are apart.(Not refering to immediate fam)

That’s excellent. My family reunions always end up being either hostile or vaguely embarassing. Ah genetics, what fun!
