Misfits Match report v Southern Pirates

We lost our first game of the season on Saturday. It was very disappointing because we weren’t playing our best rugby and we deserved to lose. What made it more embarrassing was the fact that it was our first home game.

We were totally out-played by a bigger side. We didn’t make our tackles and our fly-half kicked away too much possession. We were too deep in attack, allowing the opposition to come up on us before we could cross the advantage line. Our ball handling was poor with way too many errors. They also played dirty with plenty of high tackles and two very near punch-ups!

The final score was 15-10 to them. Hopefully next week will be a better performance.

On the bright side, there are two South African teams in the Super 14 final. Go Stormers!!

This included awarding a try after the player clearly dropped the ball. The ref’s reaction: “He deserved the try”. Our other loss came against Southern Pirates at our home game (which I’ve blogged about previously here). […]
