Not wanting to become a winter couch potato just yet, I dragged my butt out to Swinley Forest yesterday to ride my mountain bike. What a great day out!
It didn’t start that way though. Our 1 hour drive turned into two because some dumb-ass driver had had an accident on the freeway during the morning rush hour. But once we had gotten past the women involved (I just HAD to point that out!), we were OK.
We arrived in Swinley at 11am and decided that we needed to add some more layers of clothing – it was still only 3 degrees C outside! Out came the map and off we went.
We soon found the ‘Extreme Mountain Bike Area’ and that’s where we played for the rest of the day! Below are some photos to show how much fun we had!
Oh yes, I did manage to wipe-out once. My front wheel got stuck in a puddle of thick, gloopy mud and the back of my bike came over my head and went straight into the sludge. Luckily I stayed on my feet!

(18 November 2005 - 09:50)Sure looks like you had lots of fun. How much fun could it be if it is on 3degrees out??? If you put me out there I would look like the Michelin man with all the layers of clothes it would take to keep me warm.
