I've been on holiday since 25th December 2007, so I thought I'd give you a bit of an update of what we've been up to.
Christmas Day was spent with family at the Hillard's place. There were 20 of us for a huge 3 course Christmas lunch. After lunch the kids opened their presents before we had desert and coffee. On Christmas night we went to visit Sim and Paul who are over from the UK for the holidays. It was meant to be an early evening, but we only got home at around midnight. On Friday 28 December, I went for a mountain bike ride with some friends at Lysterfield Park. It was a fantastic 2-hour ride into sections of the park that I had not yet visited. There is a map here and a helmet cam video here. On New Year's Eve we went into the city to see the early family fireworks. It was a great evening except that it was too hot! The daytime temperature hit 42 degrees C and by midnight it was still 32 degrees! On Wednesday 2 January 2008, we went for a drive to Balnarring Beach down on the south coast near Phillip Island. We spent the day with the Hillards who have a caravan down there. Deb took the kids down to the beach for a swim in the afternoon while I watched the cricket. In the evening I went geocaching and found cache number 63. After a dinner of fish and chips we came home. I was going to go riding with Colin again this morning, but yesterday I came down with some sort of a stomach bug. It seems better this evening, so we may go riding tomorrow or Sunday. On Monday its back to work!
