In September 2004, Deb & I set off to Croatia for 2 weeks of backpacking.

 We flew into Trieste, Italy and spent a night there. The plan was to catch the ferry to Pula the next morning but bad weather put pay to that idea, so we caught the coach to Opatija near Rijeka instead.

Looking down on the city of Bergen and the beautiful fjord lapping at it, I knew that the 14 hours on the ship had been worth it! The view was just amazing! The small, multi-coloured houses, the tiny boats leaving trails on the glistening water and the busy people going about their business at the Saturday afternoon markets.

My travels to Namibia took place in 1991 when I was still a student. It was planned as a 2 week road trip during our winter break from Uni. Members of our expedition included myself, 2 house mates (Justin and Jaco) and a class mate, Mario. Below is a short account of what we did. For photos, see the photo section of the website.
