The weekend

No rugby was played last weekend (by us or the Boks, but we won’t even go into that!), so I had to find other ways to entertain my family. Saturday was pretty tough as it poured with rain most of the day! Josh and I ‘worked’ in the garage while the girls slept and we even drove to the rugby club to watch the seniors play, but their game had been called off too – the opposition had forfeited.

On Saturday night I took Deb out for a delicious meal at a Greek restaurant while the kids stayed with the in-laws. The food was fantastic, the service was great but the inside of the restaurant was freezing! After dinner we went home and I vegged on the couch and watched the Boks embarrass themselves.

Sunday was a bit better. It was freezing in the morning, so we all lay in bed until about 10am. After lunch, Josh and I did some gardening and put together the kids’ new playhouse type thing. He eventually disappeared indoors to the warmth and left me outside cutting the lawn.

All in all a pretty laid back weekend. Next weekend should be more fun – back to rugby on Saturday and Sunday lunch with the Smiths!

PS: Good to see that some sense has prevailed albeit not by the IRB! “The Springbok and Lions coaching staff, as well as Jones, have insisted that they saw nothing untoward in the second-rower’s charge, arguing he had merely been clearing a ruck.”

I know. They're talking about Heineke Mayer, but it took him about 12 years with the Bulls before he won anything major (Super 14). We don't want to wait another 12 years before we win a Tri-Na
