Rugby Revenge

It was worth every minute! I had predicted a 10 point win.

I sat up with cold pizza and warm Milo until 3.30am on Sunday morning watching the Boks beat the All Blacks! It was a bit of revenge for the 19-0 drubbing handed to us at Newlands last year. I didn’t think that the Boks played magnificently, but they did enough to beat the Kiwis. They held onto the ball when it counted, with the forwards having a great game. I just wish that they had tackled a bit more – what’s with that missed tackle count?

Anyway, the win takes us back to the IRB number 1 team position, so let’s see if we can hang onto it in Durbs.

Players of note: Heinrich Brussow (of course), Pierre Spies, Bismarck du Plessis and Frans Steyn all had great games. Ruan Pienaar had an OK game except for his place kicks.

On a less exciting note, the Misifts lost again on Saturday but it was definitely an improved performance against a team that beat us by 60 points last time. The final score was 36 – 21 and no, I never scored any tries this week but I made some thumping tackles. We’ll wait for the match report before I say any more.
