Oops I did it again…

That’s right! I went and put myself through torture on the rugby field again. This week we managed a draw after the other side scored 31 points in the second half to catch us. We were 20 – 0 up at half time. And I blame ME!

Just kidding! You see, I never played the second half. The reason? Let’s just say that I’m typing this VERY slowly with my right hand ONLY. My left arm is incapacitated from the shoulder down. I was about 6 inches from the try line (goal line, place where you go to score) when THREE large frenchmen pounced on me. My shoulder let out a blood curdling “crrrrrrrrrk” sound and it was all over for DelBoy. And no, I never scored that try.

But on the bright side, we got a draw. They scored the equaliser in the final minute of the game right under the posts. All they needed was to kick the conversion to win. Up steps their Irish kicker. (Hello, you’re Irish, playing for London French! Are you lost? Go play for London Irish!!?) Anyway, in all the excitement, he missed the kick from 20 yards out and handed us the draw on a platter. Bet he’s drowning his sorrows tonight.

Me? I’ll probably be back on the field next Saturday if I can. Gotta score that elusive try! With or without my left arm to help me. I just wish the pain would go away…

Chat soon,
Del

PS: Congrats to my 1000th visitor, whoever you were/are.

Ouch Del. Sounds like you took a bit of a beating there.
Hope you feel better soon. One of those German Stein’s would come in handy right now, don’t you think?

Sounds horrific, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that it took THREE froggies to bring you down. Yeah!
